Ingredients

  • 200 g semi-sweet chocolate chopped
  • 3 large eggs separated
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Melt the chocolate gently and let it cool slightly.
  • In a clean bowl, beat egg whites with sugar until soft peaks form.
  • In another bowl, whip the cream with vanilla until thick.
  • Stir the yolks into the cooled chocolate, then gently fold in the whipped cream followed by the egg whites.
  • Spoon into serving glasses and chill for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate (70% cocoa). You can prepare the mousse a day ahead—it keeps well covered in the fridge for up to 2 days. Top with whipped cream, shaved chocolate, or fresh berries before serving.
